My name is Magdalena and I am an Acquisition Associate, here at WIS. My job on a day to day basis is quite diverse and this is one of the reasons I love what I do so much! From research, to identify relevant potential target companies for WIS acquisitions, through facilitating communication, due diligence, valuation and negotiations to the event of successfully acquiring a project and integrating it into the company’s portfolio. It is a time-consuming process which could take as little as a few weeks or stretch in time up to a year or so, depending mostly on the size and set up of the target company. To find the right projects meeting the WIS quality standards, with prospects for future development and growth is challenging, but also rewarding. It is worth mentioning that the niches and markets in the acquisitions are various, which makes it just more interesting.
No doubt this is the day of my first successful acquisition. The realization of the value my work contributes has no comparison and the joy I draw out of it is my confirmation that I’ve made a great choice.
Every new day brings the opportunity to learn something, and the chance to make improvements. I tend to visualize that today it’s better than yesterday, which gives me motivation and drive to pursue bigger goals. Also, it adds a touch of excitement from the morning and gives me a boost during the day. Instead of looking back for my best day at work, I prefer to have one every day, like now, and look ahead 🙂
My work life at WIS is exceptional. The trust and liberty I’ve been given literally make my day! Not sure where else I could (if at all) have it this way. In addition to that at the company, everybody enjoys the stress-free environment, friendly colleagues, an opportunity for career growth and let’s not leave out the variety of perks including neck massage devices, standing desks, and many others.
Surely from my successful acquisitions. On another note, of my creative input in terms of corporate identity, it has a positive impact and adds value to the company (I do it just for fun though).
I work closely with the Management because of the decision making process in regards of which projects to be acquired. Paul, Director of WIS, supports every stage of the acquisitions. He is a great professional and has helped me to gain in-depth knowledge for the industry with training, conferences and sharing his expertise.
